The standards consist of nine platforms and two annexes; The platforms describe the outcomes to be achieved in the four areas of care, and appendices describe communication and relationship skills, as well as care procedures in which new registrants must be able to demonstrate knowledge. The nine platforms are: These standards specify eligibility requirements, program duration, evaluation methods, and allocation level for CNM-approved programs. In May 2018, the Council of Nurses and Midwives (NMC) released the long-awaited new competency standards for registered nurses (NMC, 2018a). Competencies define the knowledge and skills (skills) that registered nurses must demonstrate and reflect public expectations. In addition to the new standards, the following standards are: normative frameworks for education and training; supervision and assessment of students; and standards for pre-registration care programs (NMC, 2018b, 2018c, 2018d). As of late January 2019, degree programs that meet the new standards are offered, and all higher education providers must offer programs that meet these standards by September 2020. These set out the specific requirements that apply to all pre-registration nursing education programs. From 1 September 2006, all qualified foreign nurses wishing to register with the NMC will be required to complete 20 days of sheltered apprenticeship to familiarise themselves with nursing practice in the UK. In addition, the NMC may require certain applicants to complete an additional supervised practice at an institution that has been approved by a NMC-approved education provider. Our standards for companion pre-registration programs have been in effect since January 28, 2019.

Some internships can be found in retirement homes, is this in the ONP criteria? If the above conditions are met, placement in a nursing home is acceptable. However, this depends on whether the nursing home is in the partnership of the accredited educational institution and must be audited by the same accredited institution to operate the ORP. Knowledge of infection prevention and control is contained in Platform 2:2.12, which focuses on health promotion and disease prevention and states that incumbents must have the knowledge and skills necessary to „improve health by understanding and applying the principles of infection prevention and control, including communicable disease surveillance and antimicrobial liability and resistance, to be protected.“ In addition, the 5:5.2 platform, which focuses on leadership and management of care and teamwork, requires registrants to „understand and apply the principles of human factors, environmental factors and strengths-based approaches when working as a team.“ The communicative and technical skills underlying the above-mentioned competencies are set out in both annexes; in particular, Appendix B highlights the need for students to use evidence-based approaches to conduct a person-centred assessment to identify symptoms and signs of physical illness, anxiety, deterioration and sepsis; and (2) the use of evidence-based approaches to „address the need for care and support in infection prevention and management, accurately assess the person`s ability to care for themselves and themselves, and implement appropriate interventions.“ This includes capacity: Each accredited educational institution works in partnership with service providers to deliver the training program. The educational institution will be responsible for enrolling ONP applicants in the program. The 20-day protected learning phase can be completed in practice and/or at accredited educational institutions. The independent environment is located in an NHS Trust, independent hospital, nursing home or other accredited practice environment and is affiliated with the accredited educational institution. Our standards for pre-registration midwifery programs follow the students` journey and are divided into five headings: Nursing students must successfully complete a NMC-approved pre-registration program to meet our Registered Nurse Standards and register with our registry. It depends on the NMC assessment letter.

Some candidates may be required to undergo additional training in specialized areas, such as mental health attitudes. If a particular environment or experience is not specified in the assessment letter, the applicant may be placed in a clinical setting that has been assessed by an approved educational institution. The suitability of the clinical environment is decided by the partnership of the recognized training provider in partnership with the provider. It is important that IPC practitioners are actively involved with their higher education providers in developing the curriculum for the new pre-enrolment courses and that we ensure that the IPC is recognized as more than the five moments of hand hygiene. The theory should include exposure to microbiology and epidemiology so that students can understand the cause and context of infections and communicable diseases. Competencies should include the ability to assess and explain the risk of infection to patients and their families, and to have the difficult conversations that can arise when discussing vaccine hesitancy or healthcare-associated acquisition of infection. It is equally important to engage students in their own perceptions and behaviours about infection prevention and how these can impact patient care, experiences and outcomes. A practicum supervised by an educational service provider accredited by the Council of Nurses and Midwives, a supervised practicum in an environment approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, a practicum in a midwifery adaptation program at an educational institution approved by the Council of Nurses and Midwives, and an approved midwifery practice hiring for pre-registration midwifery studies. We submitted our consultation proposals in the summer of 2017. We listened carefully to feedback and changed the standards in a positive way. All foreign applicants (except those from EEA countries) who have an assessment letter dated 1 September 2005 must register for the new ONP. Applicants must also demonstrate that they have been offered: I recently participated in the approval of new courses at my own university; 18 months of working with colleagues in practice and service users to develop a curriculum that meets these standards and ensures students are excited to become a registered nurse and be able to provide quality, evidence-based care in a demanding healthcare landscape. As usual, trying to „get it all in“ presented major challenges. In particular, the need for incumbents in all fields to demonstrate knowledge of physical and mental health assessment and care, as well as technical skills that may not be so common in their field.
